From the East and the South

From the East by Worshipful Master Rodolfo Alquero

Brethren,

On February 6, 2007, we raised Brother Rico Morales to the Sublime Degree of Masonry. Let us congratulate him as our newest Master Mason and support him by giving the necessary guidance in his Masonic journey thru life..

On February 13, we had a Valentine Dinner catered by Ranch Catering. This coincided with the Worshipful Inspector Ron Rash Official Visit. Our Stated Meeting was regularly conducted in the discussion of the Lodge’s business.

On February, 20, 2007, we conferred upon Mr. Christopher Gunn and Mr. Freddie Molina the First Degree of Masonry. Let us congratulate and welcome them on their first step in Masonry. Brother Molina will be stationed in Japan for 3 years and as such requested that he be initiated in our Lodge before he leaves to his new assignment.

Sometimes I go to different Lodges’ functions and represent our Lodge. I attended the East San Diego Lodge # 561  Valentine Party on Feb. 10, Artesia-Sunrise Lodge #377 Installation of  Senior Warden and Treasurer and Valentine Party on Feb. 14, the Silver Gate Three Stars Lodge #296 Post- Valentine party at Tom Ham Restaurant and other Lodges’ degree conferrals.

Last Feb. 22, I joined the of San Diego/Imperial  Past Masters Association during an Installation Dinner. The Most Worshipful Grand Master Melvin B. Stein presided in a town-hall like meeting, followed by Q& A. pic

MASONIC EDUCATION

As I stated on my inaugural speech at our Installation of Officers, Masonic Education would be promoted and encouraged. The format being that on every Stated Meeting, an Officer or any Member of our Lodge would discuss a Masonic Topic for five minutes only. This will prod members to do research and gain more knowledge in our Fraternity and at the same time develop public speaking abilities and communication skills. I will start in on our March Stated Meeting and will talk about the Ancient Landmarks of Freemasonry. If any Brother is thinking of doing it, let me know so I can schedule it. Please make time to attend.

Fraternally,
Rodolfo ‘Rudy’ Alquero
Worshipful Master

From the South by Brother Jim Desquitado Jr. Warden

Greetings from the South, my dear Brethren!

After the joyous Christmas party, we had another enjoyable and well-attended Valentine’s (Sweethearts Party for those who have one) gathering last February 13, which coincided with our Stated Meeting.  One of the attendees was our distinguished guest, Worshipful Inspector, Ronald Rash, who joined us partake the sumptuous dinner catered by the Ranch Catering. After the celebration, we welcomed and honored him in the Lodge for his district visit.

Perhaps our next regular social event is Breakfast Fundraising in March 24th.  Be on the lookout for further information either in our Beacon’s Newsletter or log in our website, www.blackmountainlodge.net under the Beacon Icon.

So…I EXPECT TO FIND YOU… in this event particularly in the LODGE!
