Black Mountain Lodge Beacon May 2007

From the East with special note from the Secretary

From the East by Worshipful Master Rodolfo Alquero

Brethren,

Greetings from the Philippines, the Pearl of the Orient! I am here in my beloved country for a much needed rest and a familial visit to my 87 year old Mom and the Philippine Annual Communications.

First of all, let us all congratulate Brother Allan Ocampo upon his conferral of the Sublime Degree of Masonry.  And I would like to thank all the Brothers who attended and performed his conferral.

With Brothers Eufre Abad,PM and Benjamin Doria, representing Black Mountain Lodge #845, attended the 91st Annual Communication of the Grand Lodge of the Philippines. It was held at the former Clark Air Base and the venue was the Pilipino Expo which is similar in a smaller version to the World Expo in Orlando, Florida. It was a well attended event, with delegates and interested Brothers representing more than 380 Lodges from all over the Philippines estimated of well over 2,500 attendees. Foreign dignitaries came from all over the world to give and extend Brotherly Support. From my point of observation, I noticed a lot of different ways they conduct it in comparison to the California Annual Communications.

I have the pleasure of meeting some Brothers from California Lodges as well as from the Philippine Lodges during and after the event which in one way or another was worth the cost of the trip of attending it.

For our May's Lodge schedule of Activities please refer to our Annual Schedule Lodge Activities.

Fraternally,

WM Rudy Alquero
